Maruti S-Presso Made In India & Sold In South Africa Scores 3-Star In Global NCAP Safety Test-
Maruti S-Presso jo India mein manufacture kari jati hain export kari jaati hain to South African market uss model ne recently Global Ncap safety crash test mein score kiya 3-stars. This sounds definitely very surprising because Maruti Suzuki ki economical cars ki baat kare toh definitely no one expects ki 1-star se zyada score achieve kar paaye. Last year itself Maruti Suzuki Swift ne Latin Ncap safety crash test mein 0-star score kiye the which was quite a disappointment for the brand.
But to everyone’s surprise this time Maruti Suzuki ki almost sabse affordable hatchback so called micro SUV ne achieve kiye hain 3-star in the Global Ncap safety crash test mein. Although safety point of view se 3-stars doesn’t say a lot about a car’s safety, because a minimum score of 4-stars is a standard which needs to be achieved in order to be considered as a safe car.
Maruti S-Presso Scores 3-Star In Global NCAP In South Africa: All Details-
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is manufactured in India and scored three stars for adult occupant protection and two stars for child occupant protection. Yahi model previously test kiya gaya tha in the Indian market under GNCAP in the year 2020 but that time Maruti S-Presso ne score kiye the zero stars in adult occupant protection and 2-stars in child occupant protection. Following reports that the version of the car sold in South Africa had a better safety performance, Global NCAP ne decide kiya to test South African spec Maruti S-Presso.
South African spec of Maruti Suzuki S-Presso mein on offer hain two airbags as standard and during the crash test gaadi ne show kari structural unstable performance and weak protection for driver’s chest. Iss test mei S-Presso ne marginally avoid kiya a two star rating. But Indian market mein sell kari jaane waali S-Presso ne show kari thi similar level of performance for child occupant.
Apart from the standard safety features on offer, Maruti doesn’t offer ISOFIX child seat mounts and it lacks three point belt in all seating positions. And child occupant safety mein 2-star score ka reason raha Maruti Suzuki ka decision to not to provide a child Child Restraint System (CRS).
Maruti S-Presso South African spec ki iss achievement par Global Ncap ke Secretary General, Mr. Alejandro Furas ka kehna kuch iss prakar tha:
“The safety performance of the S-Presso in South Africa has been far from satisfactory and claims of improvement are not reflected in levels of child occupant protection which remain the same as the Indian version we tested in 2020. There has been significant progress with vehicle safety in the Indian market with a welcome requirement for the fitment of six airbags as standard. We hope that Maruti Suzuki will not apply a double standard for the vehicles they sell in Africa compared to those sold in India.”
Since Maruti Suzuki same car manufacture karti hain for the Indian market, so they should consider it making a bit more safer. Because currently iss brand ki image is just known for its fuel efficient engines on offer and over affordability.
