New Toyota Rumion To Be The Next Rebadged Product, Expected To Be Launched In India By Sep’23-
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and Toyota Kirloskar Motor ke joint venture ke under kaafi saari cars dono hee brands ki abb rebadge hoke Indian market mein sell kari jaa rahi hain. Maruti Baleno – Toyota Glanza, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder – Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Brezza – Toyota Urban Cruiser and Toyota Innova Hycross – Maruti Invicto hain kuch products of this joint venture between two Indo-Japanese car making giants. As per sources, there are more products coming up and now it seems like Toyota will borrow the affordable MPV from Maruti Ertiga and rebadge it to Toyota Rumion.
Interestingly, MSIL and TKM ke joint venture ke products sirf Indian market mei hee nahi but other global markets like South Africa mein bhi export kiye jaa rahe hain. Maruti Ertiga ka rebadged version Toyota Rumion already South African market mein launch kari jaa chuki thi kaafi time pehle. It gets the same equipment jo India mein hum ko Maruti Ertiga mein dekhne ko milta hain, it is very strange that how can bot of these brands can pretend as if they are selling two different products with everything underneath.
New Toyota Rumion Expected To Be Launched In India: Complete Details-
Starting from the exterior design and styling cues, front fascia recently hee update kiya gaya tha Toyota Rumion ka and looks like they tried to give it a look of a mini Innova. It gets a large front grille with Toyota logo, wide air intake on the bumper with chrome lining, sculpted bumper with fog lamp housing and other Maruti Ertiga borrowed elements like the same headlamps with halogen projector headlamps, character lines on the bonnet etc.
Side profile mein again it is the same silhouette which the Toyota Rumion gets, alloy wheels on offer looks quite stylish but unfortunately they seem to be optional features and doesn’t come standard with even the top end spec. On the side profile it gets LED turn indicators on the ORVMs, character line on the door panels, chrome outside door handles etc. Coming on to the rear profile, everything has been kept unchanged other than the Toyota logo. It gets the same Maruti Ertiga style LED tail lamps, chrome on the tail gate above the number plate housing, reflectors on the rear bumper, rear wiper and washer etc.
Talking about the specifications, Toyota Rumion is powered by the same 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine jo produce karta hain 104 PS ki max. power at 6000 rpm and 138 Nm ka max.torque at 4400 rpm mated to 5-speed manual and four speed automatic torque convertor gearbox. Iss engine ke saath Maruti Suzuki jo hybrid technology deti hain exactly similar way mein Toyota Rumion mein bhi Hybrid start/stop technology provide kari gayi hain.
Interior and features on offer ki baat kare toh, Toyota Rumion mein bhi Maruti Suzuki ka smart touchscreen infotainment system milta hain under Toyota’s brand name. Baaki features are as usual like steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, flat bottom steering wheel etc. One major difference or the only different we can say is the dashboard colour scheme, Ertiga gets dual tone interior whereas the Toyota Rumion gets an all Black interior with a darker shade of wooden finish on the central part of the dashboard.
In South Africa, Toyota Rumion is offered in three specs, 1.5 S manual, 1.5 SX manual and 1.5 SX automatic. Last one is the top spec variant with all the bells and whistles and is priced at R351,700 (Rs.15.23 lakh approx.).
