Skoda Kushaq / Slavia To Be Offered With New & Smaller 8-Inch Touchscreen, Even In The Top End Trim-
Skoda Auto India owned by the parent company Volkswagen Group ne recently ek bahot badi update di hain regarding its new touchscreen infotainment system. Before this news, Skoda Kushaq has already been in scrutiny for providing faulty climate control units and faulty fuel pumps in some of its Kushaq models. But iss baar Skoda ne announce kiya hain that they will offer a smaller 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system unit even in the top end trims of Skoda Kushaq and even in the recently launched Skoda Slavia.
Skoda Kushaq / Slavia To Get New 8-Inch Touchscreen Due To Semiconductor Shortage?: All Details
Abb iss change ke peeche ke reason ki agar baat kare toh, it is quite simply being stated that due to processor chip shortage Kushaq and Slavia mei yeh downgrade kiya jaa raha hain. But agar deeply iss change ke baare mei baat kare toh, just like other downgrades jo companies kar rahi hain due to the chip shortage problem like the auto folding ORVMs not working, offering single smart key etc. are temporary which means as soon as the car OEM gets the chip shortage sorted out they will replace or fix all these issues and customer ko sab hee features ka access mil jaega.
But in Skoda’s case, downgrading to a 2-inch smaller touchscreen infotainment system is a permanent change. Yes Kushaq and Skoda Slavia mein abb 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system hee offer kiya jayega.
Talking about Skoda’s parent brand Volkswagen ki toh, Kushaq and Slavia se similar platform par based hain Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. And Volkswagen ki inn dono hee cars mein almost sab hee components are identical also the touchscreen unit. But yeh decision Volkswagen ne apni cars ke liye nahi liya hain they will continue to offer the larger 10-inch touchscreen unit as per the list of features on offer according to the variant announced at the time of launch.
In fact one interesting thing to know would be that Kushaq and Slavia ke koi bhi variants mein large touchscreen unit nahi milega, but Kushaq ke sabse expensive Monte Carlo edition mein 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system offer kiya jayega.
Skoda ke iss decision ke peeche ka technical reason ki agar baat kare toh, Skoda ke paas aaye new processor chip 10-inch touchscreen system ke sab features ko accommodate nahi kar pa rahi. This means either the features should be reduced or the screen size and features should be reduced. So Skoda chose the second option of reducing the screen size and list of features. Yeh new screen dekhne mei lagti hain that it has been brought from the European market jaha par Skoda similar screen offer karta hain lower models mein with very basic and outdated user interface..
Now if you are expecting from Skoda that they should reduce the pricing as well, but sadly Skoda ne apne prices recently hee hike kiye the by Rs.60,000. Currently Kushaq ki price range start hoti hain from Rs.11.29 lakh and goes up to Rs.19.49 lakh for the Monte Carlo edition (prices are ex-showroom).
Talking about the improvement in the chip shortage situations, toh countries like China and Taiwan are catching up with world’s top processing chip OEMs. Although experts ka yeh kehna hain that growing demand and less availability of the raw material jo use kiya jata hain chip ki manufacturing is wajah se chip shortage ka problem November 2022 se pehle solve nahi hone wala. It is believed that we don’t have a direct alternative to switch to but car making companies apne features ya fir manufacturing halt kar sakti hain in order to provide a complete car with all its features to the customers.
