Tata showcased its high-performing car Altroz’s new edition Altroz Racer in the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show. This rival to the Hyundai i20 N Line is set to launch in early June 2024.
Tata Altroz Racer – Exterior:
The Racer is just a sportier version of an already well-performing hatchback. Altroz has a great sales figure and contributes a lot to the monthly company sales chart. As the name suggests Racer will be getting several new features and more power than its standard version.
Tata Altroz Racer will not have any changes when it comes to bodywork or dimensions. It will be the same as the current standard Altroz. It however will have a more athletic appeal and sporty look with a vibrant dual-tone orange body and black color through the roof.
Dual white racing strips on the bonnet stretch through the roof, making it look more aggressive. The theme is carried over everywhere be it roofs, alloy wheels, ORVMs. Other color options would be Red and Black.
Tata Altroz Racer – Interior:
The interiors are also in an all-black scheme, where you’d see a gloss piano black dashboard. The exterior orange shade also compliments and continues its presence in the interior as you get an orange finish near the ac vents, gear knob, and stitching on the steering and seats.
It also has ‘Racer’ badging on the front seat headrests while getting stripes in red and white colors. As per the technology, it has a 7-inch TFT infotainment system. It also gets a 360-degree camera, digital instrument cluster, and voice-activated sunroof.
Features also include rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, height adjustable seats in the front, safety with 6 airbags, hill hold assist, ESP, ABS, EBD, and of course 5-star safety rating.
Tata Altroz Racer – Engine:
Tata Altroz Racer will borrow its engine from Tata Nexon. It will have a 1.2 L, 3 cylinder turbo-petrol engine which produces 118hp power and 170 Nm torque. That is a big upgrade from the Altroz i-Turbo which generates 110 hp power and 140 Nm torque.
A 6-speed manual gearbox will accompany the engine it may also receive an automatic transmission, let’s hope it’s a 7-speed DCT.
Tata Altroz Racer – Launch Date & Price:
Tata Altroz Racer is set to launch in early June 2024, there is no confirmation yet on the exact launch date. The price we expect should be starting from Rs 10 Lakh and the top-of-the-line variant should be no more than Rs 14 Lakh since it is a variant above Altroz XZ iTurbo priced from Rs 9.20 – 10.10 Lakh.
