Toyota Kirloskar Motor used the JBL sound system for its premium offering like the Fortuner, Legender, Vellfire etc. but now in the latest update, silently Toyota has removed the premium JBL 11-speaker sound system from Fortuner and Legender. This is definitely a bit disappointing because the price tag at which both these SUVs are currently offered in India is exorbitant. And further agar Toyota aise features remove karta rahega toh how would we not call these actions as misusing the monopoly they have in the full-size SUV market.
Even after the removal of the premium JBL sound system, Toyota Fortuner and Legender dono ke hee prices mein kisi bhi prakar ke cuts nahi kiye gaye hain. In fact 11-speaker sound system replace kardiye gaye hain by a 6-speaker sound system which seems to be an in-house brand.
According to the sources, abhi bhi complete surety nahi hain that Toyota ka yeh move permanent hain ya nahi. Maybe Toyota koi different speaker brand ke saath associate kare in future, but that won’t be justified because jo interested customers abhi plan kar rahe hain to go either of these SUVs, even after spending Rs.45-50 lakh they will not be getting a decent sound system with ample number of speakers.

New Toyota Fortuner Legender 4×4 variant sirf diesel engine ke saath on offer hain which is the 2.8L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder diesel engine jo produce karta hain 204 PS ki max. power and 500 Nm ka max. torque mated to 6-speed automatic torque convertor unit.
Normal Fortuner is powered by both diesel and petrol engine, diesel engine mein same 2.8L turbocharged diesel engine is on offer whereas second engine option is 2.7L petrol engine jo produce karta hain 166 PS ki max. power and 245 Nm ka max. torque mated with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic torque convertor unit. Diesel engine option mein 4×4 ka option is on offer but petrol engine ke saath there’s no 4×4 on offer.
